Ok, so I get a big demerit. I broke the Golden Rule: THE CAMERA EATS FIRST!! I don't know if I was just really hungry, or what, but I totally forgot to take photos of the food. Not only did I forget; I didn't realize until I had completely finished my meal! Hence, sorry but no food photos! lol This little luncheonette only has 4 booths for 4 ppl and 1 table for two; there are also a few counter seats along the wall. But on a Saturday morning, we didn't really have to wait, as we got the last available booth. Yay!! Customer service was so friendly and welcoming; and fast! Eddie, the owner, even came over to say hello! Great hospitality! They serve the basic diner breakfast stuff (eggs, omelettes, pancakes French toast, etc), as well as a lunch menu (burgers, sandwiches, salads, etc), as well as side items and dessert. I had the best Western Omelette, which came with home fries, and toast. This omelette was fantastic; no joke! All the veggies were fresh and the eggs were prepared perfectly. Most diners tend to over cook their eggs but this omelette was perfect. My pumpernickel toast was fantastic also...imagine that! Toasty yet chewey at the same time. A great meal overall! I can't believe I just raved about an omelette but it was seriously THAT good! Recommended, and I would certainly return to try other menu items, or another omelette!
The most consistent, basic breakfast spot in the area. As simple as it gets; no trendy spins on (or any) eggs Benedict. I look forward to getting my car serviced nearby on Watertown street just so I can eat a Denver omelet here a couple times a year. Every year.
Eddie knows how to serve up an omelette. He opens at 6:00 on a Sunday. This is unheard of! Perfect if I want to make it to the health club by 7:00. I just had a broccoli omelette with no toast or hash browns. The omelette had at least three eggs. Toast and hashbowns are offered as part of the meal. I just decided to pass this time. It still hit the spot. There were four booths and a counter with stools against the wall. I took a seat a booth where Eddie took my order and brought my omelette out to me. It took him about 5 minutes to make my omelette. Speedy Gonzales! It was clean, neatly picked up. now I I know who is open early for breakfast. I would return if I am in the area.
Quick and friendly service. The highway special is my go to meal but even just to stop in for a quick muffin or coffee is fantastic too. They will grill the muffin and butter it for you as well. A great local spot in the Lake (Nonantum). Support your hard working local business owners! Thank you Eddie! Also, if you are looking for fancy and more luxurious breakfast places, try Starbucks and their prices! Bravo Eddie!
I remember like 3 years ago or so I have Doordashed here and they complimented my name on the bag...random but absolutely made my day (thought to leave a review as me and my partner were talking about doing food delivery and the memory came to me)- any time I've dashed to here or dined in they have amazing customer service, good food!
I have to leave a review because the several years that I've been to this restaurant he's always been wicked nice! Food is always been consistently good. That being said, now being a vegan, the only thing I can eat there is maybe hash browns and a banana. I almost feel like it would be too much to ask for him to make some thing vegan, but you can just tell that the food is made with love in every bite.
We tripped over this place getting sausage at Depasquale's. We were early for Depasquale to open so we Googled where to eat breakfast and got Eddie's 500 ft away Our breakfast was so delicious We had Denver omelet and Eddie special So glad we took a chance and went in You won't be sorry

We have been meaning to try this place for a while and so glad we played hooky from work and got breakfast here on a weekday. THE FOOD IS SO GOOD!!! We had eggs, bacon, home fries (!!!!), the breakfast sandwich and a grilled blueberry muffin. We'll be back for them all and more. Eddie & his staff are so nice too! Cash only, suuuuper reasonable prices.
